“Your Great Name” by Natalie Grant

A Name, we each have one. We use names to call out to each other, it gives us identification amidst a group. A name can give us encouragement when used with affirmation or can give us a sense of worry when the tone is just right. What about God’s Name? God was asked of Moses what to call Him when asked by the Israelites. God’s reply? “I Am who I am”. Exodus 3:13-14. Fast forward to when Jesus’ sandals brushed the dust of the earth. Jesus is washing His disciples’ feet, speaking of His last days on earth before His crucifixion. When referring to Himself, Jesus says “I am telling you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe that I am who I am.” John 13:19

I am who I Am has crossed the ages. He is the Rock of Ages, He is righteous, He is Holy, He is Shepherd, He is All-Knowing, He is Merciful, He is Powerful, He is.  What comfort there is in calling on the Name of the Lord, knowing even just His name carries so much strength, power, and majesty. In the Song “His Great Name” by Natalie Grant, she speaks of God’s great Name giving the weak strength, hungry souls being given grace, and the lost being saved  In His Great Name. Not only that, but fear has no place, and the enemy has to leave in His Great Name! What an amazing gift God’s name is. When we are feeling spiritually attacked, discouraged, or hopeless we can call on God’s Name, and He will deliver us.

I hope this week you have a chance to go to this link (http://youtu.be/h6vHHbUOCQA)  and listen to a beautiful song.  Let it sink in what a wonderful God we serve, and how much power there is in His Name. No need to be afraid, for we have the power of God’s Name. Call upon the name of our Lord for encouragement, reassurance, strength, power, the list goes on.  “I am who I am” encompasses everything.

Dear Jesus, thank you so much for your Name, a personal touch from our Creator. Thank you for allowing us to come to your throne and be strengthened and encouraged. Thank you for providing for us. You are, and for that we are so incredibly thankful. We praise your Great Name along with all of Heaven resounding worthy is the Lamb! Amen.

Hosana

[Verse 1]
I see the King of glory
Coming on the clouds with fire
The whole earth shakes, the whole earth shakes
I see His love and mercy
Washing over all our sin
The people sing, the people sing

[Chorus]
Hosanna, hosanna
Hosanna in the highest (x2)

[ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/h/hillsong_united/hosanna.html ]

[Verse 2]
I see a generation
Rising up to take the place
With selfless faith, with selfless faith
I see a near revival
Stirring as we pray and seek
We’re on our knees, we’re on our knees

[Chorus]

[Bridge]
Heal my heart and make it clean
Open up my eyes to the things unseen
Show me how to love like You have loved me
Break my heart for what breaks Yours
Everything I am for Your Kingdom’s cause
As I walk from earth into eternity
